Like the Rocky Patel Connecticut or Connecticuts in general? This is a bump up. In fact, this is sort of an interesting smoke.
A lot of cigars are straightforward in what they’re trying to do. They’re one dimensional and often that’s what makes them good. They pick one thing and do it well. But other cigars attempt to do things a little differently; to bring in some complexity by offering two or more things in one. In the case of the Rocky Patel Signature Series cigars, what you’re getting is a Connecticut that delivers medium to full body and a bit more flavor, instead of just going all in on the mildness and lightness.

The outside wrapper leaf is grown in Ecuador, which has long been a prime location for Connecticut-seed tobacco. Then, inside, a carefully selected blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers bring an intriguing flavor profile and add much needed body to take the cigar from a standard product that you can get from many companies to one that is a bit more distinctive. The Rocky Patel Signature Series stands out from the pack and does something a little differently than the rest. That said, the main flavor profile is still largely what you would expect just from looking at the stick, with notes of milky coffee and creamy butter. It’s a high quality, tasty smoke that keeps things from getting boring by taking things in a new direction.
