Rocky Patel’s birthday is February 26. He gifted himself the Rocky Patel II-XXVI cigar to mark this date. We’re not sure about you, but this is among the best gifts to self we’ve ever seen. The roman numerals II-XXVI on the lower bandstand for 2/26. The upper band has what appears to be a confetti design which is fitting and fun for a b-day smoke.
The Rocky Patel II-XXVI cigar was the first to use a good deal of tobacco grown on Rocky’s Estelí farm. In fact, tobaccos from this farm make up eighty percent of the filler blend. Making up this blend we have Brazilian Mata fina, Nicaraguan long-fillers from Estelí, and Honduran fillers from the Jamastran Valley. Over this core, blend sits a Mexican San Andrés double binder leaf and a dark broadleaf wrapper from Pennsylvania Dutch country. That potent and dark Brazilian Mata fina will unboundedly contribute rich flavors and a hint of sweetness to the smoke.
The Rocky Patel II-XXVI cigar is one of Rocky’s favorite personal blends. The smoke starts with a good deal of pepper spice that is quickly joined by chocolate, coffee, and cereal notes with a woody finish. Yes, Rocky loves a good anniversary or birthday cigar, but what’s wrong with that? We all need more reasons to celebrate. An anniversary cigar from a trusted company like Rocky Patel seems as good a reason as any!
