The CAO Black Storm is 5.0 inches in length and sports a 50 ring gauge. It is offered in boxes of 20 and is a wonderful box to have on hand to enjoy and to offer to guests. Why? The CAO Black line is the quintessential cigar, the first blend the company offered. The goal was to make a perfect cigar that everyone would enjoy, middle of the road but of the absolute highest quality and flavor – like a perfect sirloin steak, basic and incomparable. Many enthusiasts of fine cigars think they nailed it, resulting in stogies of exceptional quality. They are excellent for the beginner and a favorite of the seasoned smoker looking for something just right for any occasion, or even daily. The blend is medium-bodied and very, very smooth, with a gentle finish that lingers pleasantly. These are highly rated cigars yet very affordable. Made in limited numbers, picking up a couple of boxes of CAO Black, the cigars that introduced CAO to the world, makes good dollars and perfect sense.

Vastly improved

Review by Erod on October 20, 2011

I uncovered 2 of these way down in the humidor that I’d somewhat forgotten. A year ago they were somewhat forgettable, but they’ve matured nicely and now offer a more complex and interesting smoke. There’s leather and cedar with underlying raisins, cherries and dates. The excellent construction and consistent burn let me focus on the flavor and turned it into a very relaxing 45-60 minutes. Compare to RYJ Vintage cigars.

Highly rated in my book

Review by fatdaddy on July 26, 2011

I was gifted a sampler of the CAO Black Storm and found them delicious. In the batch I had, each one started out peppery but then mellowed into a creamy, nutty smoke accompanied by a great aroma (said my gal), lots of smoke and a lengthy white ash. I wish I’d saved a couple for the humidor…but couldn’t help myself! Good construction, burn, overall enjoyment – they are all here.

Flavorful CAO

Review by Ryan Greene on June 30, 2011

I’ve tried the entire Black line and this is my favorite next to the CAO Black Bengal. Tastes a lot like the La Flor Dominicana line, but deeper and more complex. Roasted nuts flavor with spice on the finish is very satisfying. If the CAO Black Storm gets too hot I take the edge off with Guinness Stout or comparable selection. Medium body to go with medium-full flavor.

CAO Black storm

Review by Austin Keay on January 25, 2007

The CAO Black Storm is a good cigar at a great price. The one I had, had a few sun spots on the wrapper leaf but finished with a nicely rounded cap. A very loose draw and a ton of smoke on every puff. Slightly bitter with that classic cigar flavour. Not perfect, but the price is right.
