While the Brazilian wrapper is really delicious, some leaves are not thick enough to handle this big of a cigar. A few unwrapping problems are a shame because the flavor of the CAO Brazilia Amazon is exceptional – baked sourdough bread with increasing spice. I had to look twice to make sure it wasn’t a Rocky Patel 1990 Vintage. The cigar produces lovely aroma and nice ash. Patience with the wrapper will pay off in a taste treat.
I fired up this delicious cigar at a backyard BBQ last weekend and all the cigar enthusiasts wandered over to say how great it smelled. One guy named it from 20 feet away – that’s how distinctive the great aroma is. The CAO Brazilia Amazon has great taste as well, with full flavor and medium to full body. Same size and similar taste to the Cain Double Toro Maduro.
The ring gauge on the CAO Brazilia Amazon is impressive and contributes to its big flavor – leather and nuts with plenty of spice. It also may contribute to minor wrapper flaws which can become a nuisance is you don’t manage them. Otherwise the CAO Brazilia Amazon is a dynamic, full-bodied cigar that will grab and keep your attention for more than an hour.
It had a couple early wrapper flaws that I smoked past in a few minutes and then smooth sailing. Excellent medium flavor with some buzz to the body. Great aroma and plenty of smoke too. I tasted citrus notes with cedar and a smooth sip of coffee on each finish. Some light pepper, also. The CAO Brazilia Amazon is a solid smoke I’ll pick up again.
If I became a chain-smoker, these would be my sticks! They bring loads of beefy flavor and full body to the mix. If you like Rocky Patel 1992 Vintage or Onyx Reserve Cigars you will find a step up in these. It’s not all power. The CAO Brazilia Amazon cigars are complex, with lots of leather, nuts and cedar notes and more. I find something new in every one I smoke.
