The Undercrown Maduro was born from a challenge Willy Herrera gave his cigar rollers on the Drew Estate factory floor in Esteli, Nicaragua. The underlings had to stop smoking all the Liga Privadas and needed to create something as good, if not better than the #9. Originally, it was created for his own personal use, but Herrera new his rollers had created a masterpiece, too good not to share. With the sophistication of the Liga Privada No. 9, but blended with a variation of aged leaves to create a blend of wonderful earthy notes of cream and spice with a sweet finish, it’s a medium to full-bodied treat. You will notice notes of oak, leather, hints of vanilla and roasted coffee bean.
