The Drew Estate 10th Anniversary Undercrown Dojo Dogma cigar celebrates ten years of Undercrown and ten years of CigarDojo.com reviews.
Has it been ten years already? Dang, how time flies.
For those who weren’t there a decade ago, Drew Estate’s Liga Privada No. 9 blend took the world by storm. Folks couldn’t get enough, even inside the cigar manufacturing operation. There was a need for a similar blend to handle some of the rabid demand for the blending concept. This demand gave birth to the more “accessible” Undercrown lines.
And there was much rejoicing.
The Undercrown Maduro, in particular, was a wonderful expression of the blending concept: the dank Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper, the zesty Connecticut stalk-cut and cured Habano binder, and the filler blend with Nicaraguan Habano and exotic Brazilian Mata Fina leaves. It had it all.
It’s such a tobacco feast that has come to define the Drew Estate experience outside the ACID lines' kaleidoscope.
Now, we can celebrate ten years of tobacco puffing with that cool-ass golden lion on the band. This thing looks neat. Of all the bands we could see being made into T-shirts, this has to be in the top ten or twenty.
The Drew Estate 10th Anniversary Undercrown Dojo Dogma cigar displays many of the fine qualities we’ve come to love from Liga-Esque smokes. There’s the dark peppery kick, the swirl of earth and chocolate, and the freshly roasted drip of coffee. Missing are the meatier notes you get on, the more grown-up Liga blends, but they don’t belong here. We turn to Undercrown for its incredible earthy smoothness. You don’t come here to go to Flavor Town. You light up an Undercrown Maduro for the slow ride and the kickback.
Do you dig?
