Caldwell Lost and Found cigars have become an entire category of cigars unto themselves. Rolled up in small batches, these limited edition cigars and short-run blends appear on the market one day and disappear the next, leaving only a trail of smoke and a fresh crop of rave reviews. Each one features a different kind of tobacco. Perhaps a grower simply cultivated more than they could sell. Perhaps they have a vintage that’s been aging, but that isn’t spoken for yet. Or perhaps the tobacco simply hasn’t found its way into a blend yet.
Whatever the reason, this cigar line features tobacco that once was lost but now is found.
This fits into the overall purpose of the Caldwell company, which was created to find interesting tobacco and create intriguing cigars, no matter where the journey took the team. This isn’t a buy some land and settle in kind of company. This is a “travel the world, stopping anywhere and everywhere along the way to smell the leaf in curing barns, storage rooms, and aging vaults” kind of company. The mission fits perfectly with the effort to create Caldwell Lost and Found cigars.
While the main company has produced a number of highly-rated smokes (the 93-point The King is Dead), the Lost and Found cigar collection has also produced a number of special blends. These include the sweet and crisp Cookie Monster (with 8-year aged tobacco), the smooth Costa Rican El Systematico cigar, the frosty and flavorful Pepper Cream Soda, the One Night Stand (an all Corojo stick), Paradise Lost, and La Whatever (a robust, medium-strength cigar with a sun-grown wrapper).
Caldwell Lost and Found cigars are here today, gone tomorrow blends, but if you can get your hands on them, you’re almost always in for a special experience. When you want something new, this is the place to look. By the time you get the cigars, Robert Caldwell will already be off from his home in Miami to his next adventure. But if you keep an eye on this collection, you’ll soon see his next creation appear. Just be sure to get your order in before the mob snatches up those fine smokes – we haven’t seen a re-release yet as of the time of this writing, and we don’t expect Caldwell to change any time soon.
