Drew Estate

View our selection of Drew Estate Cigars: Acid Liga Privada No.9 Natural by Drew Estate Tabak Especial As with microbrew beers and boutique wines, each Drew Estate cigar line has a very distinctive flavor. On the mild end of the spectrum is the Chateau Real, comprised of a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. La Vieja Habana is a tip of the hat to the fine Cuban cigars of the past. For something just a little different, Java contains real cocoa and mocha java, making it an excellent choice to replace the dessert course after dinner—and without being frou-frou. Drew Estate’s Natural line gives Mother Nature’s bounty some exciting twists. Rich Nicaraguan tobaccos are combined with darker, more mysterious leaves from around the world, resulting in premium cigars that will make even the most experienced and somewhat bored aficionados blink and sit up in their leather armchairs. At the full-bodied, pay-attention-to-me end of the Drew Estates cigar spectrum is the estimable Liga Privada No.9. This marvel is comprised of seven different select tobaccos from around the world. Imagine the complexity of all those flavors combining in synergy to present a cigar worthy of inclusion in an hours-long discussion of women, politics, the state of the world, and cars. And then there is the Acid. This is a cigar that simply has no peers. Nobody has ever made or smoked anything like it before. Acid is made of whole-leaf Nicaraguan fillers augmented with flavors you will not find in any other cigar. You just have to try one for yourself.

Heretical, iconoclastic, renegade. These are words appropriately applied to a cigar that is not satisfied with the status quo in any way. Acid cigars set out to break the rules and offer cigar enthusiasts something completely different from anything they’ve ever encountered before. Perhaps “synergy” is a word better attached to Acid cigars. The melding of ancient tobacco traditions with modern practices has produced premium cigars that stand unapologetically on their own merit.

When the Liga Privada No. 9 was released, it set the cigar-world ablaze. The folks at Drew Estate knew that following in its footsteps would be no easy feat.  But somehow they managed to pull it off with the more emboldened T52. After over two years of production and the marriage of seven distinctly aged tobaccos, the handcrafted, stalk-cut T52 was completed. A perfect choice if you desire a stronger more robust smoke with it’s distinct flavors of black pepper and spice. Guaranteed to be perfectly constructed, full of thick white smoke, and about a 2-hour experience of wonderful flavors and nuances. This second verse smoke, might become your first choice pick in the future!

When you think of cigar companies, you probably think of Cuban emigres in Miami, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua or Honduras. But just like their unique cigars, the Drew Estate story is about as non-traditional as it gets. Starting with a 16 square foot kiosk in the World Trade Center Mall in New York City, frat brothers Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel, now run one of the biggest cigar operations in the world. It's a testament to their fortitude in business and passion for cigars! Some of their most interesting and “unique” smokes have been collected into the Unico Serie (Unique Series). A series that is as unique as it's founders. Every hand-rolled cigar in this line is different in size and blend and provides you with a truly exceptional experience. You’ll be sure to find a line or two that is as unique as you!

From the early days of Drew Estate’s existence, the New York skyline (including the often overlooked water towers) were a part of the daily lives of co-founders Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel. Overlooked no longer, Drew Estate has put almost every blend into these handsome 4x32 tins. Fifteen different cigars sold in tins of 10 each will provide quick on-the-go smokes. Great for gifts, and great for your own enjoyment!

The Drew Estate rollers are quite a talented bunch, and this line continues the legacy at Drew Estate of “Blending on the Factory Floor.” The factory workers had to cut back from smoking Liga Privadas, and choose to shuffle the blend by making use of different tobacco primings. Even the name reflects the process that brought them into existence. If the Liga Privada is blended for the king (the Management), then “Undercrown” is blended for the prince (the Rollers). This is the third and highly-anticipated release in Drew Estate’s popular Undercrown line, and features an Ecuadorian Sumatra seed and a Sun Grown Wrapper and a powerhouse blend of Nicaraguan premium fillers. The Undercrown Sungrown provides a brilliant balance of sweetness and spice, and has gripping notes of tang that set it apart from the rest. In our estimation the Undercrown Sungrown is a cigar suitable for a king, fit for a prince, and a delight for the rest of us commoners.

The Undercrown Maduro was born from a challenge Willy Herrera gave his cigar rollers on the Drew Estate factory floor in Esteli, Nicaragua. The underlings had to stop smoking all the Liga Privadas and needed to create something as good, if not better than the #9. Originally, it was created for his own personal use, but Herrera new his rollers had created a masterpiece, too good not to share. With the sophistication of the Liga Privada No. 9, but blended with a variation of aged leaves to create a blend of wonderful earthy notes of cream and spice with a sweet finish, it’s a medium to full-bodied treat. You will notice notes of oak, leather, hints of vanilla and roasted coffee bean.

Receiving a 91-rating, this cigar does anything but throw shade. The Undercrown Shade is the blue collar version of Liga Privada No. 9 and shines in its own right. Master blender, Willy Herrera challenged his rollers to come up with a Connecticut-based blend that he would approve of, and did they ever succeed! It's bright and creamy, zesty with touches of lemon peel and dried orange. It's also sweet, with a very prominent note of honey on the palate. Medium-bodied, with a rich and complex blend, this mellow cigar will surprise and fascinate even the most full-bodied enthusiast. Featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Sumatran binder, as well as Dominican Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Criollo & Corojo fillers. The final blend is medium-bodied, lush & ultra-smooth, with flavors that only a shade grown wrapper can deliver.

Sometimes a collaboration of two companies becomes a match made in heaven. One such match, Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery (known for their exquisite bourbon and whiskey) teamed up with cigar legends of Drew Estate Cigars, and together, it’s a match made in heaven. The cigars (like Pappy Van Winkle bourbon) are produced in such limited quantities, that if you get your hands on one, you've got yourself one showstopper of a cigar. A perfect compliment to any drink or evening, this "Medium Plus" strength level cigar allows both new smokers and experienced aficionados alike to enjoy this well-rounded, sophisticated cigar. It's a long-filler premium cigar made totally by hand and in very small batches at the Drew Estate factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Enjoy this little slice of heaven today!

If you're familiar with Drew Estate you know their master blender is the 'famed' Willy Herrera. Before he was 'famed' he was visiting the Drew Estate facility in Esteli, Nicaragua and was asked to create three different blends (just for fun!). Little did he know, he was actually interviewing for a job. A few years later, after Herrera was hired at Drew Estate, Julian Van Winkle (ol' Pappy himself), personally chose this blend for his cigar. "Traditional" because it doesn't use any bells or whistles in the production of the cigar...no special aging or fermenting techniques. Featuring an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper, Indonesian Binder, and aged fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic...it's a multicultural, ultra-complex, perfectly flawless smoke. Traditional in all the right ways, try it today!

With names like Sweet Jane, Fat Bottom Betty and Crazy Alice, these three “ladies” have a colored and checkered past, lurid reputations and know how to bring even the strongest man to his knees. Originally dubbed Three Yummy Bitches, this series of cigars have Drew Estate fans cheering and should be on your must-try list. Non-infused cigars, with sweetened caps and unique flavor make these smooth dark maduro wrappers, with hints of mocha and earthiness, a pleasure to smoke. Like all things Drew Estate, expect the unexpected with these less-than-traditional sizes, and packaging. But one thing you should expect? A sinfully good time with these ladies.

The warm tropical climate in Florida is a natural place to grow tobacco. But in 1977 many tobacco farms closed shop and relocated to other regions around the world, like Nicaragua and Honduras.

Jeff Borysiewicz, President and Founder of Corona Cigar Company, has changed the landscape (literally!) by bringing long-filler cigar tobacco back to the Sunshine State. After years of patient farming, (and thanks to a special friendship with Jonathan Drew of Drew Estate Cigars), an innovative and Florida Sun Grown cigar line has been born! Florida tobacco is some of the most delicious and unique tasting tobacco available today. Plus with a lush Brazilian wrapper, you've got a little piece of Florida sunshine rolled up in your hand.

MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured is now offered in 7 different sizes and is open for ordering at anytime! Kentucky Fire Cured is not something new to the world of tobacco, as it has been grown for over 200 years. Easily compared to the smokey taste attributed to a peaty scotch, the KFC picks up nuances of the roasted hickory, oak or maple wood.

Drew Estate teamed up with Joya de Nicaragua to create this burly and commanding line of cigars. With a 60 ring gauge (on average), the Drew Estate My Uzi Weighs a Ton (“MUWAT”) lives up to its unusual title. The story of its name goes back to the factory floor, when founder Jonathan Drew went to pick up a bundle of 50 of these smokes and said, “Damn, my Uzi weighs a ton!” After a big laugh, the name stuck. This smoke is generously packed and gives off a very slow, cool burn. For a large, brooding cigar the energetic punch of earth and sweetness packs a punch in this complex recipe. The MUWAT lingers past each flavor, cascading with notes of sweet tea, cinnamon, mocha and hints of licorice. Beneath the surface is a definite base of leather and earth, with a touch of toasted cedar throughout. The MUWAT has enough flavor to please the experienced smoker, but smooth enough for a novice to enjoy.

The Maduro line is not your average maduro – it is one of the mildest manudos on the market, yet it still delivers a rich, complex maduro flavor. The Maduro features double-fermented, Cuban-seed Dominican filler tobaccos and a sweet, dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.

La Vieja Havana is one of those brands that refuse to die out despite the ups and downs of business cycles and weather-related disasters. Antonio Almanzar began making the original La Vieja Habana in New York City in the mid 1990s. The cigar boom was in full swing, leaving Central American tobacco growers overwhelmed by demand for their products. Almanzar, working for Drew Estate, could not acquire the basic raw materials to continue hand rolling these stellar cigars. Consequently, Drew Estate was left with no choice but to discontinue production.
