The Aging Room Quattro F55 was Cigar Aficionado’s No. 2 cigar of 2013, with a 95 rating! And because the Cuban cigar that was #1 that year isn’t available in the US (the Montecristo No. 2), this was one of the best smokes you could get in the country that year.
It wasn’t always so rosy for Rafael Nodal, founder of Aging Room. In fact, some of his early blends kind of fell flat due to marketing issues and other concerns. Once he met Tabacalera Palma's Jochi Blanco, however, he was able to get things moving. The two were able to create some decent Cubanesque blends that suited Nodal’s developing style. But the big breakthrough came on a trip east to Europe. Nodal visited a German cigar company, whose representatives escorted him to an aging room full of rare true Sumatra leaves grown in Indonesia. These leaves had been maturing since 2003, waiting for their date with destiny.
The moment had finally arrived.
At Nodal’s command, these long-aged Sumatra wrappers were rolled around a perfectly-chosen Dominican interior blend and the result has come to be known as the Aging Room Quattro F55 – a luxurious, unique cigar that puts out full-bodied but immensely smooth smoke that the critics adore. Light up one of these box-pressed beauties and you’ll immediately get lush, creamy draws with a heady combination of cedar and peppery-spice. As you progress, you’ll be treated to refined notes of espresso and milk. Strength builds and woody sweetness takes over, finally giving way to a delicate chocolate note that will leave you drawing till the very end of the nub.
With the Aging Room Quattro F55, Nodal has created a small-batch masterpiece that rivals anything produced by better-known brands in the past decade. If you can manage to get your hands on these super-rare cigars, stock up. You’re going to want more, trust us!
