The toro, essentially a slightly longer and skinnier Robusto, just doesn't get the same treatment. And yet, Rocky Patel Toro Cigars are some of the best the brand makes. Heck, the A.L.R. toro got a whopping 94 rating from CA in 2019. But there are a ton of other amazing Rocky Patel toro cigars. Rocky seems to do best with moderation: cigars that aren't too long or too large but are just the right size to meet about any occasion. So many Rocky Patel toro cigars really shine.
The Rocky Patel Edicion Unica is one of the only Honduran puros on the market. And it comes in just the one Vitola: a toro. Which makes it a natural fit for a list of the essential Rocky Patel toro cigars.
It features a gorgeous turquoise band that is simply eye-catching. But the blend is where things really pop. The punchy Honduran tobaccos deliver a seriously complex palate of smoky barbecue sauce, hickory wood, oak, dry cocoa, rich milk chocolate, red pepper, and earth. It's a potent combo that works best with this thinner and longer Vitola. A classic among Rocky Patel Toro Cigars.
The Rocky Patel 1961 celebrates the year Rocky was born and released in 2009, then re-released because it was so popular. The cigar is a combo of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Ecuadorian tobaccos and packs one heck of a punch – once again a good reason to opt for one of the Rocky Patel toro cigars instead of a larger Vitola. There is a TON of pepper to start, with some notes of almond and cocoa. The pepper recedes eventually and leaves more traditional notes of milk chocolate, graham cracker, and earth. The toro length allows you to enjoy the developing flavors while the narrow gauge stops them from overwhelming. One of the great Rocky Patel toro cigars.
The toro Vitola allows the San Andres Maduro wrapper to really shine in this unconventional Rocky Patel stogie. It's one of the classic box-pressed Rocky Patel toro cigars but the Day of the Dead themed band is far from usual for the normally reserved brand. But the powerful chocolate and woody pepper notes make this another hit among Rocky Patel toro cigars.
