Like the rest of the Finest Hour line, Padilla Finest Hour Oscuro cigars were inspired by Winston Churchill’s “This was their finest hour” speech delivered to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom in 1940 when Great Britain and France stood alone against the Nazis. Ernesto Padilla has stated that the speech is most likely Churchill’s most famous since his back was against the wall. To Ernesto, the line represents our finest hours, hours so memorable and moving that we have a cigar to mark the momentous occasion.
The core blend of Padilla Finest Hour Oscuro cigars utilizes aged Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers thoughtfully placed inside a dual Nicaraguan binder. On the outside, you’ll find a dark, oiled-up Connecticut broadleaf Maduro wrapper. The result is a complex, full-strength smoke that delivers notes of heavy spice, red pepper, peanut, and damp earth with a long and sweet finish.
The packaging for Padilla Finest Hour Oscuro cigars is sophisticated as all get-out. Picture a shiny black box adorned with gold lettering and symbols that looks classy enough to hold a medal of high honor. But instead of an award, the box overflows with these dark Maduro treats. We’ll take ‘em!
Previously manufactured at an undisclosed factory in Honduras, the Finest Hour Oscuro cigars are now produced at A.J. Fernandez’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Ernesto Padilla is especially excited about this move as the line now uses A.J.’s ample supply of aged tobacco.
Please enjoy Padilla Finest Hour Oscuro cigars at your leisure.
