In 2013 Robert Caldwell returned home from a trip to the Dominican Republic. He met up with Tony Bellatto from La Barba cigars and shared a few of the unbranded sticks he picked up during his travels. This was when the idea for Caldwell Lost and Found cigars was born. The concept behind the project is simple enough—travel around and located unique, well-aged cigars produced by other manufactures that were either forgotten or lost. And of course, the final step is to slap some creative branding on the cigar and packaging and offer it up at a price much lower than the manufacturer intended.
Only 1,200 Caldwell Lost and Found Malparidos cigars were found and are now available to the public. These stogies were made in Nicaragua in 2014 and have aged patiently ever since. Long fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua make up the core blend. These are held together by a sturdy Nicaraguan binder. The finishing touch is an aged Nicaraguan habano wrapper leaf.
With so few of these Caldwell Lost and Found Malparidos cigars on the market, this could be your only chance to claim your take. You’ll be the envy of the entire cigar block once they scope these little treasures in your humidor.
