Does five and a half inches count as short?

You know what? Never mind.

This habano-wrapped beauty is the Crowned Heads Mil Días Mareva El XX, and it is on the short side for this blend series at 5 1/2 inches long. It’s also the skinniest, with a ring gauge of 42. So, for folks who want the Mil Días experience in a less time-consuming format, this is a great way to experience a captivating blend.

It took a “thousand days” to make, but you may not always want to take a thousand days to smoke it, right?

Aaaaaanyway…

This first limited-edition Mil Días kicked off a tradition that would see quite a few other sublines created. But the first tester started here. The blend is familiar. There’s an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a long-filler combo that puts together Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Costa Rican tobaccos. It’s the same blend as the original Mil Días cut and rolled into a different size.

Seasoned smokers know that this resizing can affect the flavor profile and smoking experience quite a bit, and should expect to get a slightly different stogie than the core line. Here, the Crowned Heads Mil Días Mareva El XX blend comes off nuttier, with dark fruit, cedar, and pepper leading the way. The original release definitely was a touch creamier than this, but this apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree. Cigar Aficionado said, “This corona burns and draws evenly…” and also tasted “[b]otanical impressions of juniper and herbs” along with walnut on an oaky core.

It’s a very enjoyable format for this highly sought-after blend.

1000 cabinets were made, each with 30 stories inside. If the original tickled your fancy, stock up on these perfect-for-breaktime cigars.

This Crowned Heads Mil Dias Mareva El XX cigar is made in Nicaragua. Outside, you'll find an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Inside, the binder is Nicaraguan, and the filler is Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Costa Rican. Crowned Heads Mil Dias Sublime is a medium-bodied Corona shaped cigar with a length of 5.50 and a ring gauge of 42.
