The Garcia family has always taken excellent care of the blends that makeup the Tatuaje portfolio, and the Havana VI is no exception. Tatuaje Havana VI cigars were once rolled at Jose “Pepin” Garcia’s El Rey de Los Habanos factory in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami. Nowadays they’re put together in Nicaragua with the same care and attention to all the fine details of premium cigar making.
The results are excellent – Cigar Aficionado awarded this one the #25 spot in its 2014 list of the Top 25 Cigars in the world. The Tatuaje Havana VI earned a 91 rating for the rich toast and earth flavors found in the Artistas vitola, and we’ve found that the line has kept the same enjoyable qualities over the years.
One thing to note: the original blends featured a brown label. Today, you’ll find Tatuaje Havana VI cigars with a red label. If you hit the white label (aka “Serie P”), you’ll probably get a cheaper price due to the interior blend including a mixture of long and short filler tobacco. For our money, the top of the line is well worth it when it comes to the Havana VI. The flavors are super satisfying and we’ve been coming back to this one every now and then for our own smoking pleasure for almost a decade.
