Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sungrown
Well, we could all take a lesson from Perdomo, who sits on tobacco for a decade-plus to bring us these beautiful Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sungrown cigars. We’re getting into whiskey territory with the number of years that went into the product here!
Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sungrown cigars have a delicious blend of Nicaraguan tobacco for the long-filler and a chestnut brown sun-grown wrapper leaf. These leaves were aged for a decade in bales, which is about a hundred pounds of tobacco wrapped together in a block for long-term storage and aging. After ten whole years had gone by, it was time for phase two – a couple more years of aging in charred white oak bourbon barrels. This infused the tobacco with the light aroma of whiskey.
The Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sungrown cigar has some super tasty smoke. Light it up to puff on “rich, earthy smoke with a spicy-sweet complexity, slight hints of oak and almond, and a long warming finish.” Sounds absolutely fantastic as a pairing with a decent bourbon. Keep the bottle close at hand in case you accidentally finish one ahead of time and need a sequel.
Aging can be a tricky thing in the world of tobacco and cigars. It’s hard to plan this far ahead and actually get the blend you want. But Perdomo laid some high-quality Nicaraguan leaf into storage and came up with an exquisitely rare, complex, and flavorful blend. Pick up a few for a special occasion and see why many of the best cigar companies swear by well-aged tobacco.
