The core blend of 2023 Marranitos Edicion Limitada cigars is a Nicaraguan binder over a long-filler mix of Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Costa Rican tobaccos. It’s quite earthy and spicy, but also offers bright fruit and other interesting notes. The original Ecuadorian habano led to a slightly creamier profile than you’ll get here, though. This cigar takes an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and the wood and earth seem to come more to the forefront. No matter which way you toast it, the result is a smoke that is full of interesting flavors. Or, as Crowned Heads founder Jon Huber put it, “the flavor profile took on a whole other dimension.”
