Let’s see what makes this stogie so luxurious.
For starters, we have an elegant box. It’s black with artificial carbon fiber that looks like the real thing. Then there’s the dome-shaped lid with “ROYALE” in a minimalist chrome-colored font. That box size, shape, and font would make one think they were opening a piece of large jewelry or a fine watch box if they didn’t already know better.
The Cohiba Royale cigar is the first Cohiba stick ever rolled in Honduras. Making up the filler blend are Jalapa and Estelí Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Jamastran Honduran tobaccos held together by a Dominican Piloto Cubano binder. The wrapper is a Nicaraguan broadleaf grown in the Jalapa Valley. This wrapper will surprise people, as broadleaf wrappers cultivated in Nicaragua are uncommon in the industry. Each leaf in this cigar aged for five to six years before rolling.
Cohiba Royale cigars have a fuller body profile though they are balanced enough for people new to this side of the good life. Cohiba called the Cigar Aficionado 91-rated Royale the “most finely-tuned smoking experience Cohiba has ever created.” Once lit, expect an even draw and even burn with espresso, smoked wood, and cherry notes.
Please enjoy Cohiba Royale cigars at your leisure.
