If you’re new to Caldwell cigars, you’ve come to the right place – this is one of the company’s best blends, and was given a 92 rating by Cigar Aficionado. There’s something about how the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and Dominican binder and filler combine to create a tasty medium to full bodied smoke with flavors of earth, chocolate, rye bread, and nuts. Seriously, this stick is like a tiny little bakery that makes satisfying tobacco treats. It’s no wonder that this is one of the leading cigars for this young company.
We don’t have much to go on when it comes to the name and band, so we’re not totally sure what inspired this one. We went out to do a little research online, but as many outlets tell us, the band simply features “a bearded man.” Ok – thank you! Seems like it’s not meant to be a famous figure, then. We’re thrown off a bit, because many of Caldwell’s other cigars are focused on some aspect of Russian history or royalty in general.
There’s no need to read to deeply into it. It’s all about the smoke at the end of the day, and the smoke here is mighty fine. We’re really looking forward to what Caldwell comes up with in the coming years as they scour the globe for interesting exotic tobaccos and skilled master blenders to partner with.
