If you’re one to head straight for the dark meat, the Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler has plenty of that and more. In this sampler, the wizards over at Padrón collected five of their best-selling lines in one coinvent box. With a brand known quality, consistency, and those unmistakable signature flavors, you know you’re in for a real treat.
The Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler contains one each of the following cigars.
Padrón Thousand Series
The Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler opens with the Thousand Series, the blend that started it all for Padrón. At its heart is potent two and a half year-aged tobaccos grown in the lush soils of Nicaragua. The leaf is dark and oily and toothy as all get out. With these working together, you’ve got an out-of-this-world adventure of the spicy and sweet. Smoking down a Thousand Series is both a trip back in time and a thorough experience of the present.
Padrón 1964 Anniversary
To celebrate 30 years in the cigar game, Padrón released their 1964 Anniversary line in 1994. These highly sought-after cigars come in limited yearly runs. To combat counterfeiters looking to take advantage of this scarcity, each stick in the line wears a serial number imprinted band. They really do think of everything over at Padrón, don’t they?
The leaf is a dark, vein-free, oiled-out Nicaraguan Maduro. Inside is top-shelf four year aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. Once the celebration begins, this bold stogie delivers spice, cocoa, leather, and earth flavors.
The 1964 Anniversary is one party you don’t want to miss. Luckily, the golden ticket lies in the Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler.
Padrón 1926 Anniversary
The Padróns certainly know two things well—producing premium cigars and celebrating. And the festivities continue with the Padrón 1926 Anniversary, first released in 2001 to wish a happy 75th birthday to the man himself, José Padrón. Only 100,000 of these party sticks hit shelves yearly, so each wears one of those serial number imprinted bands mentioned above to ensure you’re smoking the real deal.
The spicy and sweet Maduro leaf goes to work on a potent Nicaraguan tobacco blend that will send you to a world of chocolate, nuts, leather, and spice. Light this candle up, kick back, and wish a happy birthday to Mr. Padrón.
Padrón Family Reserve
Next in the Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler is Cigar Aficionado’s 2009 Cigar of Year—the Family Reserve No. 45. Once upon a time, this award-winning blend was exclusive to Padrón family members, but no longer. To celebrate its 45th year in business, Padrón shared it with the world. This cigar is full in body, box-pressed, and could be one of the stars of your humidor. The best of the best family blend is first aged for ten years before it's hand-rolled into a Maduro leaf so dark it could blot out the sun. Once burning, this full-strength yet smooth toro bucks with spice, leather, cocoa, and coffee.
Padrón Dámaso
The humble roots of the Padrón cigar family go all the way back to the mid-1800s when a young Dámaso Padrón immigrated to Cuba and started working the tobacco fields. This mild to medium stick is the lone non-Maduro in the sampler. It leans a bit to the mellow side of the equation to mix things up, but don’t think that means there’s a lack of complexity. The leaf on this cigar is an Ecuadorian Connecticut. The rest of the blend is Nicaraguan long-fillers. There is a touch of spice to this cigar, along with cream and cocoa.
Truly a flavorful cigar for any occasion, why not light one up to honor the original Padrón cigar man?
Please enjoy the Padrón Collection Maduro Sampler at your leisure.
