Southern Draw Rose Of Sharon Desert Rose
The delicious, highly-rated Southern Draw Rose of Sharon is back in a new Desert Rose blend that’s heartier and more punchy than the original. It’s a perfect follow-up to a fine blend that captured a lot of fans with its nutty and lightly sweet profile. We’re turning up the temperature a bit and bringing that desert heat to the mix this time.
The original was built around Nicaraguan tobacco and wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf. It was fairly mild in terms of flavor and was a quintessential coffee smoke. The Southern Draw Rose Of Sharon Desert Rose cigar switches things up, bringing in a stronger Nicaraguan Habano wrapper leaf and using a filler blend that incorporates Honduran Corojo 99 and Dominican Piloto Cubano. The flavors are peppery, with a dry wood character that is perfect for when you’re in the mood for something that’s not too sweet or straightforward. This is a good cigar for thinking.
But why “Desert Rose?”
As company co-founder Sharon Holt explains, it’s “a symbol of the family as we stand our ground and confront the changing seasons and mounting challenges that we continue to encounter as we execute our mission of unity, charity, and the service via this little brand.”
It’s also pretty and well made, like Sharon herself, if we may say so with due respect to Mr. Holt.
Fans of the original blend will find something new to enjoy this time. It’s a flavor and one we find intriguing—a surprising stick. We wouldn’t be shocked to find it on some of those famous best-of lists in the coming year.
