The original Whiskey Rebellion cigar line called back to that time when the early U.S government tried taxing spirits to pay Revolutionary War debt. It took President Washington riding up to Pennsylvania himself to settle things down and disperse the bands of agitators. The tax was repealed in 1804 after it proved too hard to collect.

And now we smoke.

This Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Tarred & Feathered cigar is still a flavorful stick, like others in the blend line. It incorporates Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers, an Indonesian Besuki binder, and an Ecuadorian Habano ligero wrapper – strong and rich. Each of these combines somehow to produce a profile of pepper, dark chocolate, and clean earth. It stays fairly true to this profile throughout, skipping evolutions in favor of a perfect focus on what it does well. It’s a testament to stable construction to put together a cigar that offers a particular flavor combo that lasts from beginning to end, but this one isn’t messing around.

Like the ancient rebels, it knows what it wants and doesn’t deviate for a second.
