Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperial Natural Description
This Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperial Natural cigar is made in Nicaragua. Outside, you'll find a Nicaraguan Natural wrapper. Inside, the binder is Nicaraguan, and the filler is Nicaraguan. The 1964 Anniversary Imperial Natural is a Full-bodied Toro shaped cigar with a length of 6.00 and a ring gauge of 54.
I split a box of these with a friend who also wanted to try them. After leaving them for 2 months in the humidor I succumbed. The Padron 1964 Imperial Natural was not as strong in flavor as I expected, and that was slightly disappointing. The coffee and mocha notes are very tasty but the spices I read about barely made it to my taste buds. More time in the humi?
I wanted to find something critical to say about the Padron 1964 Imperial but, except for quibbling over the price, could find nothing substantive to mark down in this stick. It’s a taste blend between 2 favorites – the Punch Gran Puro and the Fuente Don Carlos, and better than either one by itself.
The first inch of this cigar offered light nuts and a touch of leather, which I expected. I waited for the richer, more complex flavors but they never arrived. It was mildly spicy leather all the way. Not as good as expected by far. I’ll trade you a box of these for half a box of Tatuaje Havana cigars.
