Oliva Connecticut Reserve
I’m only 1/4 of the way through this box but I can say they are as close to a perfect smoke as I’ve ever enjoyed. They have been consistent, with a smooth draw and a rich flavor profile. I would describe it as starting off mildly sweet and creamy. As the smoke progresses it evolves into a more buttery, nutty flavor. The finish evolves into delightful, moist and earthy richness that grows in intensity, but remains smooth throughout. They are extremely well made with a nice clean even burn. I’ve share a few sticks with friends and they’ve received universal acclaim. I’m anxious to see how they smoke as they age in my humidor over the next several weeks.
Smooth and Enjoyable
I usually prefer a Maduro or Habana wrapper for my smokes. My son in law gave me a box of Oliva Connecticut Reserve torpedoes for Father’s Day with the suggestion to try the Connecticut wrapper. I was very pleased with these cigars. They burn evenly and have a great toasty taste. The draw is light and the all Nicaraguan tobacco leaves a pleasant aftertaste. I am not giving up my Patel Habanos for my daily smoke but, the Oliva Connecticut Reserve is a smooth and enjoyable change of pace.
