I’ve recently been doing tasting orders, where I’ve been going through cigar aficionado’s rankings year by year and ordering 10-20 selections at a time. They’ve all been good sticks, some more to my liking than others but this Norteno stands out as my absolute favorite. Great full bodied smoke with just enough punch to not make your mouth feel like the Sahara, an incredible burn and great flavor throughout the entire cigar. As fine as all these cigars have been there have definitely been more than one that start off completely mild and don’t get any real punch until the last third. At just under $11 a stick this is an absolute legend and I would easily place this in the same category as Cuban’s 3-4 times the price. Lastly, I’ve got to say Cigars Direct has, by far, the best selection I’ve found in terms of availability if anyone else likes the idea of trying new highly rated sticks. All my deliveries have been quick, packaged well I haven’t gotten a bad one yet. It’s a great place to buy from.
Welcome to a box pressed, maduro, complex, superbly balanced, well aged, rich and full flavored cigar. So delicious, you’ll want to eat the smoke! Tasting notes: Rich earthiness threaded throughout the stick. Smooth transitioning sensations of spicy leather, toasty marshmallows , black pepper, salt, dark chocolate, cocoa bean, coffee, with just the right touch of sweetness. Strength: Starts medium full, ends full Comments: Good draw, slow cool burn, long ash, no harshness, take it to the nub. Conclusion: You may want to consider the Norteno for an after dinner delight paired perhaps with dark black coffee and a dark chocolate truffle to nibble on. I did and Oh My! A cigar to pleasurably indulge.
