The Kolosso Amethyst cigar measures 6 x 60, so will keep you busy for quite some time. The company knows how to put together some of these “all-day smokes,” but seems to relish all formats. In fact, they make some of the shortest cigars we’ve ever seen, like the Luxus X-Trem Shot, which is only 2 inches long! That said, they’re great when they make up something to last you the better part of a weekend morning, afternoon, or evening. We could see a blend like this being a perfect companion for 9 holes of golf.

The flavor notes called out by El Septimo are quite tasty. Instead of spices and earthiness, which you might expect, this one seems to trend toward sweets with distinctive flavors, like licorice and marzipan. We know that licorice is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of polarizing flavor, but our experience is that the cigar has nice aromatic notes and keeps things interesting, rather than hitting anything particularly hard. It seems like the fermentation process really tamed the tobacco, making for something that is decently smooth and enjoyable, without being overpowering in any way.
