Drew Estate Liga Privada No.9 Flying Pig Description
The Liga Privada No.9 flying pig brings you the classic full-bodied blend that topped the charts as Cigar Aficionado's #10 cigar of 2015 and that made Drew Estate a mainstream premium blender. It also helped re-popularize the Connecticut broadleaf Maduro wrapper, which is now grown in massive quantities by farmers who have switched from shade-grown tobacco to meet the growing demand for this potent, tough-as-nails leaf.
When it came time to make these cigar hogs, the Drew Estate Liga Privada No.9 Flying Pig was the first one off the rolling desk. The DE team kept the same winning formula from the standard No.9, but added another dose of spicy Ligero long-fillers and rolled the tobacco into the now-iconic 4.00 x 60 size.
The Drew Estate Liga Privada No.9 flying pig cigar starts with a surge of black-pepper spice that wakes you up and makes you pay attention to what's coming next: sweet natural tobacco reminiscent of leather, cedar, cocoa, and cinnamon. Cocoa and cedar build consistently over the length of the smoke while the spice continues to recede for a surprisingly smooth though powerful experience.
Don't let the smoothness deceive you; this cigar will still knock you off your feet if you're not careful. The Drew Estate Liga Privada No.9 Flying Pig is a classic variation on an even more classic cigar.
Overall, great smoke. Not for the faint of heart, and definitely not on an empty stomach. This blend packs more of a punch than the T52 and Undercrown Maduro (IMO). More red/black pepper notes in the first third, starts to mute as you cross the halfway point. Nub of this sucker is POTENT! Will smoke another.

They're awesome! Definitely an awesome cigar. Hard to find but worth the wait and price. The folks from Cigar Direct are the best when it comes to customer support and response to cigars inquiries.
I'm late to the game with the Drew Estate Liga Privada line up and recently back into cigars so take that into consideration. But I found this to be an incredible smoke in the flying pig vitola. I tend to stay in the small and short smoke realm and this is totally worth trying one if you haven't yet. I need to try the No. 9 in other vitolas next.
Just getting back into cigars from pipe smoking and came across these Flying Pigs. Nicely crafted. Great flavors with a little kick.
Great Cigar gonna purchase some more!!!
