Another BLTC home run
My wife hates the smell of cigars. She never fails to tell me how much I “stink” when I come in from outside after smoking one. I will usually buy a box of the newest BLTC blind because they rarely disappoint me. But this cigar I bought just one tester. After smoking it and walking past her, she grabs me and buries her face in my neck and says “whatever that is, buy all they have”. Luckily for her it immediately became one of my favorites and had bought a box before I ever finished the tester.

Tar?
I ordered these sticks since there is a connection to my surname. This review is not a reflection on CD, who process orders awesomely and provide good value. These cigars are a bit rough-hewn and strong tasting. Both these facts are ok, definitely not the refined presentation of an Ashton, but more rugged wrapper, with prominent veins - even the cap, with is short cone-shaped, as well as the closed foot, feels like it was made with a rustic-intent. Again, all good, I don't need elegance - and prefer function over form. The surprising fact was leeching of what appears to be tar where I had made the straight cut. The tar came oozing out of the center of the smoking surface, and I was able to wipe it onto fingertips, whereupon more oozed out. I don't think I've ever experienced this in a premium cigar before. I am not certain it was actually tar, but at a loss as to what else to name it. I took photos, but the site review function doesn't seem to allow uploads. The taste was still enjoyable, strong, earthy, but the oozing tar was troubling.
