A great morning cigar!
The box pressed shape and the beautiful Connecticut wrapper is a beautiful to behold.. The cigar has excellent construction and few veins...a solid cigar and solid cap. This is just a really nice, classy label wrapping the box press. The first draw produced a burst of pepper with a hint of leather, which was consistent with the prelight aroma. The stick produced a nice white ash. Billows of smoke on the first draw with a hint of pepper and leather, similar to the prelight draw. Well they definitely are flavorful but they also lean toward mild/medium. The first third produced a smoke that was somewhat peppery with some leather and spice thrown in. As the cigar moved into the 2/3, it mellowed into a creamier smoke. The smoke from the 1/3 to 2/3 was very cool. The nub continued with the creaminess but the pepper also returned toward the very end.. The price point of this stick makes it very attractive. You get an aesthetically gorgeous cigar that is very flavorful and somewhat complex. I enjoyed this smoke and feel it is the perfect first cigar of the day to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. I highly recommend this as go to stick when friends come over that are new to smoking. People with dough may use a Macanudo for that purpose, but Macanudos arent cheap. And the 5 Vegas Gold is cost effective as a give away cigar to newbies. If they like that, then you can hand them one of your Macs.
