Warped El Oso Blanco
The Warped El Oso Blanco cigar uses the same Dominican and Nicaraguan filler blend like the one found in the original bear but switches things up at the wrapper. For this version, there’s an Ecuadorian Connecticut desflorada wrapper – the same as that used on the 93-rated La Colmena line. That cigar had CA’s reviewers hooked thanks to the “dense, chewy” smoke that had them thinking of German chocolate cake, so we’re expecting a nice smoking experience out of this new blend.
For those who don’t know, “desflorada” means “deflowered.” No, Pablo, the fieldhand did NOT do unspeakable things to this tobacco. Instead, he simply clipped the flower and seed portion of the plant, freeing up resources that could go into leaf production. It’s a common practice in gardening that helps a plant focus on whatever you want it to focus on, instead of what Mother Nature has in mind. In our case, we get a juicier tobacco leaf out of it and a better cigar at the end of the day.
Warped El Oso Blanco cigars are wrapped up at the El Titan de Bronze factory in sunny Miami, Florida. As of the release date, they’re only offered in Papa size, which is a nice 6 x 48 Corona Gorda. Whether papa bear will stay lonely or will have the whole bear family probably depends on how this blend performs.
Quantities are super limited, so if you’re interested, get that order in sooner rather than later. It can’t wait until hibernation ends in the spring! Active winter bears only on this one.
