Clearly, someone at United Cigars like béisbol, or as we call it here in America, “our national pastime.” One of those guys is Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations. He says, “The sounds at the ballpark have always been a part of my Spring.” And so we have the United Cigars Stadium Series cigars, celebrating a game synonymous with warm weather.
The series features cigars from several brands, like Asylum and CLE, and the packaging that recalls the boys of summer in proper style. The blends inside the boxes don’t necessarily have to be new for the series, but it’s a fun touch when cigar companies take a moment to blend up something fun. In any event, this series, like United Cigars Firecrackers, is a collaboration where United finds excellent companies to make cigars to include in the collection.
At this time, the United Cigars Stadium Series includes two offerings.
The first is Asylum’s Green Monstah, a candela-wrapped stogie bat weighing in at 7 x 70. It comes in a box reminiscent of a fieldhouse, complete with a replica scoreboard in the style of Fenway Park. The flavors offer light black pepper and cedar but an unmistakable green field note that will take you back to a sunny day at the ball field.
The second in the United Cigars Stadium Series is the CLE Corojo 11/18. This is a Honduran puro from a company that is an expert in putting that kind of tobacco to good use. It has a flavor profile that pulls no punches, with black pepper, oak, and fresh earth. The box it comes in is an homage to the Yankees – or as close as you can get without infringing on anyone’s IP. You can even find 12 cigars inside the box with CLE pinstripes on paper sleeves.
In the future, we may see other teams. For now, at least two fanbases are happy to snag up a box of baseball stogies that would be the perfect companion when watching the game with friends.
