Southern Draw Jacobs Ladder cigars are one of the company’s strongest offerings, with a full flavor blended to satisfy big-time smoke hounds. There’s some serious leaf in this cigar, which starts with a long-filler blend of tobaccos from Nicaragua, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. Around that is wrapped an Ecuador Maduro binder and a nice dark Pennsylvania broadleaf Maduro wrapper.
It’s a sturdy Ligero blend, made with potent leaf that will have you definitely buzzing by the time you’re well into the cigar. Much like the biblical Jacob, who dreamt of a ladder to Heaven while sleeping with a rock for a pillow, you’ll be ready to see some angels if you puff on the Southern Draw Jacobs Ladder cigar long enough. With an inspirational foundation like that, this is a great cigar for imagining your next big move. Maybe you’ll get lucky like old Jacob and the Lord will promise you big things during your reverie?
The downside is that you may have to commit to using a rock as a pillow to make the magic happen. We’re sure a few of our military customers have probably been there before. You guys can sleep anywhere!
The flavor is off the charts for the Southern Draw Jacobs Ladder cigar. All of that Maduro gives you rich earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness, but the complete blend gives you spicy and smoky notes like pepper and campfire. There’s something in there that’s almost like a chocolate chip cookie, or at least the floury, sugary dough.
Southern Draw is a fairly new company, and the focus of the blending team is on making a few high-quality offerings to build upon as a foundation. This cigar is one of them, offering a full-bodied profile and plenty of strength to go along with it. If you want to know what Robert Holt’s Texas team and AJ Fernandez down in Nicaragua have come up with to fit that slot in the brand portfolio, give this cigar a shot.
