Southern Draw Firethorn Habano Rosado Cigars

With a name like “Firethorn,” it had better bring some spice and flavor, right?

Well, it does. You can relax.

The Southern Draw Firethorn Habano rosado cigar starts out with a tasty blend of Nicaraguan long-filler tobacco. Then there’s a Mexican San Andrés binder wrapped around that. Anyone who’s lit up leaf from that valley knows that somehow a potent peppery note always winds up in the smoke. Cigars like this always introduce themselves with a firm handshake right upfront.

The piece de resistance, however, is the double-fermented Ecuador Habano Rosado wrapper. That’s Cuban-seed tobacco that has undergone a fermentation process and then a secondary additional process to help it develop more fully. We wish we had more details on the specifics for the Southern Draw Firethorn Habano rosado cigar, but we’re not sure exactly what was done. Sometimes, growers will age the tobacco in barrels for secondary fermentation, but sometimes other processes are used.

It’s a mystery here.

The only thing we know for sure is that the resulting blend is mature and complex.
