Sancho Panza Original
A couple of things are still the same, however: there’s still that handsome Connecticut shade wrapper (now grown in Honduras), and some Nicaraguan long-filler. But the new embellishments make Sancho Panza Original cigars into something that will definitely lead to a different smoking experience than before. Now, instead of a broadleaf binder, there’s a flavorful and spicy Mexican San Andrés leaf. And the long filler mix now includes Brazilian mata fina and Dominican tobacco.
The team has upped the flavor, basically.
The profile of the new Sancho Panza Original cigar is fairly complex, with notes of cedar, nuts, baking spice, and a light citrus on the finish. Folks who enjoyed the original will hopefully find more to love in this reincarnated version that says goodbye to yesterday and hello to a bright future. It draws well, and seems to hit the intended mark. Sancho Panza created it to provide “a smooth expression of who we are,” and the experience definitely is in this zone, although it’s more flavorful than you might remember it.
The original was made in Cuba over a hundred years ago. Today, the name still means something, and the blend is in capable new hands. Truly, this is a cigar for all seasons. You can’t beat the OG, even if he’s changed a little with the times.
