The Perdomo Inmenso Seventy Sungrown cigar features a mouth-straining 70 ring gauge. It bows down only to those ridiculous 80-ring gauge blends from Asylum. Other than that, this is pretty much one of the biggest cigars you can find anywhere.

What possessed Perdomo to create this cigar? Are they hopping on the trend of big ring gauges?

No. Not at all. In fact, they’re reviving their own trend!

They were so ahead of their time that this blend is actually a revival from the early 2000s when the Inmenso was first unveiled. Much like a hot guitar solo from Marty McFly, the world wasn’t quite ready for it then. The kids are all grown up now and ready to love Perdomo Inmenso Seventy Sun Grown cigars.

Like pretty much all Perdomo blends, this cigar is built around Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobacco. Perdomo is one of the most productive and biggest tobacco farmers in Nicaragua, so they can rely totally on making their own blends with their own leaf. The difference between the Inmenso and other blends, however, is aging. The tobaccos used here have been aging and developing in storage for years, only now reaching a point of mature flavor that made it worth rolling into a special blend like the Inmenso.

The Perdomo Inmenso Seventy Sungrown cigar is one of two wrapper choices available on this gargantuan cigar. The other is an earthy Maduro. This one, in contrast, goes all-in on that classic profile of cedar and spice. It’s a medium body and strength smoke, with a rich flavor that is highly enjoyable, especially when you get those little notes of barbequed meat. This is like that cigar in your humidor that you forgot about for a few years and then turned out to be absolutely fantastic once it had time to age properly.

You may not have a cutter that can handle the Perdomo Inmenso Seventy Sun Grown cigar, so plan accordingly. A v-cut is probably a solid choice here to open up the cigar without chopping the whole head off, preserving some of the taper. Get your lighter fueled up because this titan probably needs a lot more than a simple match.
