Tom Werther, a retired New York City police detective, founded Line of Duty cigars. His lifelong commitment to fundraise for public causes and smoke some good cigars along the way came together quite nicely. Now we’ve got blends crafted by skilled partners like the team at Black Label’s Oveja Negra cigar factory and the folks at La Perla. Not bad company for a new brand like this.

Line of Duty Grunt cigars is a tasty, somewhat spicy little Nicaraguan blend. It’s not too over the top – more mild/medium smoke. The Nicaraguan long-filler leaf is bound with some Ecuadorian tobacco and then wrapped up in a Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper. Its profile is one of those straightforward cigars that come off tasting like natural tobacco, with a hint of spice and a hint of sweetness. It’s a fine stick to reach for when you get a few minutes to have a drink and kick your feet up.
