Joya President Juan Martinez calls it a “doble fuerte power cigar.” “Doble” means “double,” which in this cigar is a reference to the blenders’ use of twice the usual amount of ligero tobacco. Ligero is the high priming leaf found at the top of the tobacco stalk. This leaf drinks in maximum sunshine and delivers the most nicotine content, which gives it its characteristic strength.
