JFR XT Maduro
JFR Cigars are affiliated with Aganorsa tobacco growers in Nicaragua and Casa Fernandez, for those keeping track of the teams behind the scenes. The JFR name actually stands for “Just for Retailers,” but the brand has grown a bit beyond this concept since its launch in 2014. With the Lunatic blend appearing on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars list of 2018 at #7, things kind of blew up in a good way. Lots of attention is on this brand now, which is proven to make great use of Aganorsa Nicaraguan leaf to produce cigars that people are now clamoring for.
JFR XT Maduro cigars are not the superstar of the portfolio – that distinction belongs to the Lunatic – but they’re quite nice thanks to a heady mix of Nicaraguan long-fillers at the core. The wrapper is Mexican San Andrés tobacco, which brings a nice spice punch and some tasty earthy sweetness. The ultimate flavor profile is peppery, with a foundation of French roast coffee beans and a kiss of molasses. Classic Maduro, and one we’d be happy to put a lighter to any day of the week.
One signature of the JFR Cigar company is huge ring gauges. JFR XT Maduro cigars are available in 6 x 54, 6 x 60, and a whopping 7 x 70 Vitola. If you’re into fat-ass cigars, you’ve come to the right place. JFR is not messing around AT ALL when it comes to gargantuan stogies that you can smoke all day. Pick up a fiver of these or a 24 box so that whenever you decide to smoke the day or night away at a cookout, poker night, fishing trip, or full 18-hole morning of golf, you’ve got all the fumar you need.
There’s no reason to hold back here. This is a cigar you can enjoy as often as you like. That’s what it was made for! Grab the right amount and light up at will.
