Foundation Cigar Co Highclere Castle Senetjer
Folks obsessed with Ancient Egypt will lose their golden scarabs over this one!
The filler blend of these Senetjer cigars is a mystery, much like a mummy laid to rest and never discovered. We know that, fittingly enough, it has been aged (a few years, not thousands). The binder we know about – and it’s a spicy one! – Brazilian mata fina. The wrapper leaf we can see just fine. It’s a gorgeously dark 7th priming of Ecuador Habano. This is a nice high-growing leaf that drank in the light of the sun god Ra and took on an impressive form that would make a fine hieroglyph if we didn’t have a much better use for it.
What’s the link between Foundation’s much-enjoyed HC line and the pharaohs of long ago? Lord Carnarvon of Highclere funded the party working with archaeologist Howard Carter to unearth Tutankhamun from his 3,000-year resting place. The cigar celebrates the 100th anniversary of this dubious discovery.
Foundation Highclere Castle Senetjer cigars are named after the Egyptian word for “incense,” They bring a fantastic aroma to the room when lit. Lift the sarcophagus replica box to get your hands on the cigars. Once you get your lighter and finally begin to commune with the holy spirits of the gods, you’ll taste cinnamon raisin toast, oak, and walnuts. It’s a spicy and woody profile with a nutty finish that makes us think this blend will be a welcome addition to what is becoming a pretty illustrious line. There’s just some mystique to Highclere Castle that follows it no matter where it goes, even if that journey takes us deep beneath the sands.
For a special box that would make a spectacular gift for the ancient history buff in your life, snag these beautiful perfectos from inside the dusty tomb and step out into the light with an armload of tobacco treasure.
