God of Fire Serie B
But the Arturo Fuente cigar brand came from humble beginnings. Founded in 1912 in West Tampa, Florida, by 24-year-old Cuban-born Arturo Fuente, the first cigars were blended and rolled in the Fuente home with the help of his wife and two sons. From day one, the operation was all about quality tobacco, craftsmanship, and patience. The Fuentes know there is no need to rush things if one executes their trade with expertise and skill.
Fuente cigars ran on Cuban tobacco all the way up to the embargo implemented by the United States in the 1960s. The family first turned to the Dominican Republic as their new source, though after the passing of Arturo Fuente, Carlos Sr. brought the company to the fertile soils of Nicaragua. Unfortunately, in 1979 the Fuente factory burned to the ground during the Sandinista revolution. At this time, production moved to the Dominican Republic, where the Fuentes operate to this day.
In 2004 Arturo Fuente partnered with the cigar accessory company Prometheus to create the God of Fire line. Prometheus was tasked with developing and producing the limited edition humidors and exquisite black and red cigar boxes, which display a detailed version of the Prometheus Bound painting.
The painting features the Greek Titan god Prometheus strapped to a boulder as an eagle attacks him. Zeus ordered this eternity-long sentence to punish Prometheus for stealing fire and gifting it to mortals. With the Prometheus company handling the packaging, Arturo Fuente develops the blends and manufactures the premium handmade cigars in the Dominican Republic. Among these blends is the God of Fire Serie B cigars.
The core blend in God of Fire Serie B cigars is pure Dominican. The cigar comes in two versions. One wears a Connecticut broadleaf Maduro wrapper. An Ecuadorian sun-grown leaf tops the other one-off. With the Connecticut broadleaf Maduro, you’ll find spice, cocoa, and espresso flavors. Expect flavors of coffee, earth, leather, and sweetness from the Ecuadorian wrapper version.
