E.P. Carrillo Cigars is releasing an exclusive product to commemorate the establishment of the United States. Dubbed 'E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance 2023', this new blend draws upon two of the brand's highly rated cigars, Pledge and Allegiance, having special personal significance as it marks the journey of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo from San Cristobal, Cuba to the US.

Ernesto Perez-Carrillo was a mere seven years old when he crossed the sea to seek refuge in the United States in 1959. He had donned a suit, hat and tie for his journey alone, yet the determination to attain freedoms and the American dream was evident in young Ernesto. As his daughter, Lissette Perez-Carrillo, remarked, "Ernesto came to the States with the American dream—we want to highlight this idea and patriotism".

The E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance L.E. 2023 blend utilizes American tobaccos, featuring a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Connecticut-seed Ecuador binder and a mix of US, Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos. These 6x54 box-pressed cigars come in Americana-styled boxes, with red, white and dark blue coloring and a white arc of stars. Limited to 1,776 boxes to commemorate the year of US independence, the cigars will be released in mid-June.

 “It is a first-time blend for me,” says Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “I enjoyed working with these American tobaccos very much.”
