In a way, Cusano founder Michael Chiusano didn’t seek out his perch in the cigar industry—it sought him out. After a trip to the Dominican Republic in 1995, he returned home with a bunch of unbranded cigars to pass out to friends. One of the friends to receive one was Two Guys Smoke Shop owner David Garofalo, who was so impressed he offered to buy the entire lot. Soon after that, Cusano cigars were born.
The original mission for Cusano cigars was to release wallet-friendly premiums that could keep up with higher-priced brands. In fact, they blend Cusano M1 cigars to mirror the well-known taste and characteristics of Macanudo cigars. Cusano M1 cigars came out in the late 1990s. They continue to be a crowd-pleaser over two decades later.
Top-shelf Dominican long-fillers power these smokes. These fillers are held in place by a Connecticut shade binder. A neat Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf wraps it all together. This is a mild premium with impeccable construction and flavors of toffee, cream, coffee, and sweet spice.
Cusano M1 cigars are an affordable bundled indulgence.
