CAO cigars have always been at the top of my list but the Cao America Landmark has truly left its mark. Offering a super creamy and ultra smooth taste with a slight hint of chocolate. This double wrapper beauty is a must try in my book.
First one I smoked had to be nursed a bit because the gorgeous wrapper wanted to unroll. The next several had no issues. As for the flavor, the Landmark is quite robust and full, something like the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Maduro. I enjoyed trying to parse the different tastes contributed by 5 different tobaccos, though the blend actually achieves a nice harmony. It’s worth the money.
I love the CAO Brazilia and found the CAO America Landmark to be a deeper blend like it was infused with dark espresso. The body grows from medium to full along with the flavor. In the second half of the smoke the espresso diminished and a real Cuban-style earth and leather blend came to the fore. I’ll smoke another one for sure.
I think this cigar holds its own with the Ashton VSG on a dollar for dollar comparison. It is smooth yet strong with a very long finish that lingers nicely on the palate. Even as the strength intensified past the band it never became harsh. I needed to relight it once and mess with the burn so it loses points there. Otherwise top notch!
Just finished the last of my sampler of the CAO America Landmark and I had 5 good smokes. Two had minor construction issues but I was able to fix them and still enjoy the cigar. The full, earth and nuts flavor reminds me of the Padron Reserve No. 45 Maduro though not quite on par with that stick. I plan to buy another sampler and put them in the humie for down the road.
