The Caldwell Hit and Run Part Deux (aka the “Rip and Dip”) is yet another blend name from these rascals that makes smokers giggle. Whether you’re thinking of one-night stands, farting and taking off, or running away from a quick robbery, the Hit and Run Part Deux is giving you food for thought. It also kind of describes what’s going on with one of the blenders of this cigar.
Matt Booth was the man behind Room101 cigars, but he stepped away from the brand a while back, separating from Davidoff/Camacho, who was managing the boutique cigar line. A few of the blends were popular – perhaps you remember the Farce? Well, now Booth is back for a follow-up to the first Hit and Run cigar. This time, it’s Caldwell Hit and Run Part Deux, and it’s quite the mysterious blend. Instead of going to town extolling the virtues of all the different tobaccos that make this smoke special, the international men of mystery have simply handed us a cigar and took off.
Also known as the Rip and Dip.
We know a few things about this cigar, however. It’s got a Habano wrapper on it, which you really can’t go wrong with. Inside, there’s an interesting blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and United States-grown tobaccos. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to the specifics of the Caldwell Hit and Run Part Deux cigar.
All that matters at the end of the day, of course, is how the Caldwell Hit and Run Part Deux cigar smokes, and this one delivers where it counts. It’s a great cigar for people who love nature – very earthy and bready – but also with notes of cherry and cream soda. Once we get to puffing along we’re not sweating the specifics. We’re just happy that Caldwell keeps sourcing quality tobacco and finding delicious blends for us to light up.
