The Black Works Studio cigar brand is what happens when a boutique cigar maker decides he needs a place to create lines that are even more boutique. The Black Works Studio Hyena adheres to the "less is more" philosophy of Black Label and the objective to combine certain traditions of the past while going against the grain to create something new. A great example of this is the full-strength Hyena's use of an African Cameroon wrapper with a Nicaraguan Habano binder that cradles quality Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. While this combination isn't new, it's not historically in the norm of traditional cigar making. Cameroon wrappers are the toothiest leaves around, ready to serve up an additional dose of sweetness with a nice pepper balance. They are also incredibly flavorful and potent.
