Not many people like being told what to do. We cigar smokers who tend to have fierce independent streaks especially don’t like being told what to do when it comes to our beloved sticks. Well, our fellow smokers who inhabited the Caribbean Islands and other Spanish-controlled American colonies in the 18th and 19th centuries were definitely told what to do when it came to manufacturing cigars.

At the time, Spanish royalty prohibited the production of all cigars in these territories while still allowing it at the Sevilla Royal Factory in Spain. Along with this action came a mighty increase in the price of cigars. The reaction was the same as most prohibitions—bootlegging. The Bandolero Traficantes cigars tribute the bandoleros who ran such operations.

These bandoleros would smuggle cigars into the colonies produced in countries, not under the Spanish thumb. Risking severe punishment, they would sell these sticks for a much lower price than the Spanish cigars. This all took place in mysterious hideouts and backroads, and soon the bandoleros were seen as heroes sticking it to the man.

The Bandolero Traficantes features a feisty Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that is sure to bring the complexity with the help of an undisclosed binder cradling a part Nicaraguan, part unknown filler blend. Much like the cigars offered by the bandoleros, this smoke holds an air of mystery due to its secret ingredients. Whatever those secrets are, they’re working, because once you light this full-strength number up, she’ll send you to a rich world of dark chocolate, spice, cedar, pepper, and sweetness.

Make sure to blow a few thick Bandolero Traficantes cigar clouds for the bandoleros. To help the legend live on, we must celebrate their efforts.

Please enjoy Bandolero Traficantes cigars at your leisure.
