“We are here to save the Tatas… One cigar at a time!!!”
On his Instagram, Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. set forth the simple mission behind Arturo Fuente Rare Pinks cigars. As most folks know, special editions of products in pink are generally produced in connection with a campaign to fund breast cancer research. In this case, $13 from each box sold of Arturo Fuente Rare Pinks cigars is donated to the American Cancer Society.
It’s a great cause – but is this a great cigar?
Looking at the company name, you already know the answer. With more Cigar of the Year wins than any other cigar maker, Arturo Fuente is a name synonymous with ultra high quality, and so you can expect a great smoke from the Rare Pinks.
The interior blend is Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco, and the wrapper chosen was procured from the Oliva family’s farms in Ecuador. Fans of the Arturo Fuente Hemingway cigar line will recognize the sizes and shapes – the figurado's even kept their names from that line: Short Story, Signature, and Work of Art. This time around, however, there’s also a unique size for the Rare Pink cigar called “Happy Ending.”
Hopefully, that’s what all this breast cancer research will ultimately give families around the world.
The cause is near and dear to Carlito’s daughter, Liana Fuente. She has unfortunately lost family to the devastating illness and has made it a personal cause to battle it. Luckily, she’s got an outstanding platform to help rally support to the cause.
Arturo Fuente Rare Pinks cigars are an excellent smoke, with flavors of smooth cedar, leather, creamy coffee, and nutmeg among the notes reviewers have called out. The next time you light up, you can say you’re smoking for a cause.
It’s worth a shot!
