While sometimes referred to by enthusiasts as the "Opus Green" or "Opus 25," this Churchill-sized smoke (7 inches by 50 ring gauge) is distinctive for its green-rendered primary OpusX band and a secondary band reading "Opus 25."
From Humidors to Boxes: A Shift in Availability
The cigar was originally announced in 2021 to mark the OpusX brand's 25th anniversary. Initially, it was exclusive to two expensive Elie Bleu humidors: a desktop model with 25 cigars that retailed for , and a large, 150-cigar cabinet that sold for .
After allowing time for the humidors to sell, company patriarch Carlos Fuente Jr. has made the cigars more accessible. They are now being released in traditional wooden, 25-count boxes.
El Tributo: A Tribute to Carlos Fuente Sr.
Fuente Jr. also enhanced the cigar's theme. While it still celebrates the 25th anniversary, it now primarily serves as a tribute to his late father, Carlos Fuente Sr., who passed away in 2016—hence the name El Tributo (The Tribute). Every box lid is decorated with a personal dedication penned by Fuente Jr. to his father.
