Alec Bradley Post Embargo Blend Code B15
In 2015, the Cuban embargo was easing thanks to the Obama-era thawing of the relationship between the U.S. and Cuba. Many thought it would usher in a fantastic new period where U.S. cigar lovers could indulge in a Wonka-esque wealth of Cuban cigars.
Post-embargo cigars, with a name that has since aged like milk, were created to help kick off this bold new time in stogie enjoyment, what could have been a revolutionary time in the cigar industry.
Sadly, the regulations were snapped back into place by the succeeding administration. Oh, well. It was a nice moment while it lasted.
Post-embargo cigars were scrapped for a bit but are now reborn as Alec Bradley cigars are under new ownership. Blend Code 15 is now made with an entirely new approach. The old one is post-mortem.
Of course, in true Alec Bradley fashion, these are made with rich, flavorful Honduran tobacco. If you don’t like earth and pepper, you won’t like Alec Bradley Post Embargo Blend Code B15 cigars.
The long-filler blend is focused on Honduran leaf from Jamastran and Trojes and also includes Nicaraguan Jalapa tobacco. A double binder of Honduran leaves keeps things nice and snug around all that. And the wrapper is Honduran Trojes tobacco.
It ain’t a Cuban, but it’s capably blended using fine tobacco, which should appeal to lovers of classic “stinky” cigars. This one makes no apologies. It features an earthy, rustic pepper with just a hint of natural tobacco sweetness. It follows the core blend style of Alec Bradley, and if you’re a fan of that, you will like this new look of the post-embargo blend.
If not, you can have your tiny little embargo right at home of this stogie.
