A world-renowned jazz musician and composer, he knew little about cigars and nothing about their construction details. Uvezian embarked on a crash course in acquiring all the knowledge he could. He began scouting the Dominican Republic for the finest tobacco and the very best factory to produce his brainchild. Uvezian settled on having his revolutionary cigars made at the Tabadom facility under the auspices of the makers of Davidoff.

The culmination of his quest was the AVO Classic, a mild and smooth smoke considered to be one of the finest products coming out of the Dominican Republic cigar factories. The Connecticut wrapper is the vessel containing a blend of five special tobaccos, most of them grown in the Dominican Republic. The aroma offers notes of nuts and wood.

Since that time, the AVO line has branched out to include a slightly more assertive taste with the inclusion of a Maduro wrapper. Next to roll out the shipping department’s door was the AVO XO, a medium body cigar that has something to offer nearly every connoisseur. Full yet balanced, it delights the experienced smoker and the neophyte alike. AVO 787s are more limited in distribution due to the tobaccos required for its construction. It is of medium body and balanced taste, with none of its complex notes of chocolate, coffee, spice, and nuts overpowering the others.
