Outside, you'll find an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper finished with Connecticut Shade Stars and Habano Maduro Stripes. Inside, the binder is Dominican, and the filler is Dominican. The La Flor Dominicana Stars and Stripes 2021 is a Medium Bodied Double Figurado shaped cigar with a length of 7.00 and a ring gauge of 55.

It takes the basic shape of something like a presidente, with a slightly tapered foot and a sharply tapered head that ends in a knob that reminds us of a flagpole. It’s ideally a propos because there are stars and stripes down the wrapper. This thing is true to its name.

The base wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano, but they did arts and crafts and busted out Maduro stripes and Connecticut shade stars that are laid right on the wrapper. Inside, the blend is all LFD – rich Dominican tobacco that brings plenty of delicious flavors.

The La Flor Dominicana Stars and Stripes blend started as an exclusive. It was made for Gourmet Smoke Sessions, created in partnership with Miami meat purveyor Meat N' Bone and broadcaster Hacking Gourmet. Thus, this thing is a great pairing with some grilling. The flavors are incredibly smooth, which may be surprising to people who know Dominican blends. It’s a nice sweet bit of smoke, with toffee and oak coming together to provide an experience that is more dessert-like than anything else.
